The design of this site sucks

So here’s the deal: the design of this site sucks….bad. I need help to make it look better and have a bunch of ideas for what I would like to see here. Any ideas on how I can go about doing that? Any help in the comments would be GREATLY appreciated.

Don, you’re right. The design of this site sucks bad. I used an off the shelf Wordpress theme for www.ryankuder.com and I think it turned out OK. Not the same as having a pro designer on it, but there are a lot of themes that do what you need with minimal work.

My first question would be what do you want to do?
Content repository?
SEO ad-serving clearing house?
Cool AJAX widgets?
Take a look at different types of sites (apps, content, ajax, etc) and steal from the ones you like.
Oh my god does it!
First, stop with the cap’s it’s really hard to read.
Then increase the margins, everythings to crampt
Next, dial all the lines back to a mid grey and stop them poking though into the site title.

don, the reason the site looks this way is because of your big auditing firm days background, you were trained to use a simplified type of design , so as to not confuse or dazzle the highly intellectual (and extremely tight assed) corporate clients senses.
it is 2008 now Don, release yourself from the bounds that restrict you from web 2,0.
seriously, other than the font style , it looks a bit like a text article from NY Times feeds.and that is still useful. Now get to dazzling em don!!!
